Liz Austin Chairman / Secretary Tel: 01737 767844 Email: westerlands@sky.com Liz has owned and bred dogs for the past 40 years, has a background in farming and horses, being a qualified riding instructor since 1960. She has been involved with rehoming Springer Spaniels for a number of years and was national co-ordinator for another Springer Spaniel charity until she resigned in 2007. Liz has one Springer Spaniel who she rescued, he was a cruelty case and now suffers from a serious heart condition, senile dementia and has also lost an eye through an inherited disease. Colin Pugh Treasurer Tel: 01737 551958 Email: colindpugh@talktalk.net Colin a retired Construction Executive / Consultant, has had Springer Spaniels since 1982, and has been involved with rescuing them since 2001 Colin is a NSRA Rifle Shooting Instructor helping to train newcomers to the sport of target shooting. Colin has two Springer Spaniels both of whom he rehomed from unsatisfactory homes.

Susan became owner of her first Springer Spaniel by default. Realising as a teacher, her dog Barney just wanted to learn and please her, she became involved in dog training. She was introduced firstly to Obedience then following on with Agility and Working Trials. On taking on another re-homed feisty working Springer, found a gun dog training club and became involved in the "Shooting" world. She now has two bitches working in the shoot season. For many years now, having qualified, she has taught basic obedience locally but, passionate about the working Springer, she has been involved in this breed's rescue for the last ten years alongside Just Springer Rescue's Liz Austin. All our Trustees will have authorised persons working for them carrying out home checks and assessing dogs, but any final decision can only be made by the relevant Trustee. |
